Trapline 2023 Season

Have to agree Dogleg the Marten boxes are not alot of work compared to Coyotes or Wolves even Lynx are time consuming.
For Marten I use Beaver meat with Barnes Marten magic or Skunk essence.

Speaking of lures, what would be a good one for raccoons and skunks? I’m in the country and have a large front yard and these critters are constantly digging up the lawn looking for grubs.

I have a round skunk trap I got from PA and only got one so far. Also have a box with a 220 in it but is setup for top entry. I’m thinking I should invert it like the Martin sets in the pics here.

Not sure on Raccoon but for the Skunk I would try wild meat
I caught 3 from under my cabin that were feeding on Deer heads.

Ever set a cam on video Reb? I was always curious on my lynx snares, so set a cam on one once. I was very surprised at how fast it ended, maybe 20-25 seconds.

Enjoying following this thread, Keep’m coming!!

Nice thread. My great grandpa and grandpa used to have a trap line in the cariboo. I thought about getting in to it, but I'm busy with the kids for now.

Auction results from June show lynx at an average of 110 with a top of 200. Wolverine averaged 487 and top being close to 900cad.

I messed up just before covid. Found a beautiful Bobcat coat in a woman's small cut at an antique place and the wife talked me out of buying it for my daughter as she was still only 2 at the time. Price was $300.
