SKS Duckbill Magazine Advice

Hi All,

First time SKS owner. Russian 1952. I'm looking to buy a few detachable magazines, and saw the video on SKS duckbill magazines that appear to be plug and play (https://youtu.be/O3GTH0_Res8).

My question is, where do you folks purchase these? There's a few Canadian websites out there but I'm not sure I want to provide them with my cc information without knowing they are legit/trustworthy.

Any suggestions on brick and mortar locations for these in the GTA? Or if you have a website you trust..

Any advice is appreciated!
 
Congrats on the new rifle. They're a lot fun! My sks's have benefitted tremendously from glass bedding and handloading but that's a bit of a rabbit hole.

I've purchased these mags from my lgs. There was a website which was good too, I think it was "northern republic magazines" or something similar. I'd mainly just do a quick Google search and see what the vendors reputation is. The bad stores quickly build a reputation which is easy to find.
 
I bought some promags from cabelas recently. They are not cheap,as per mags in Canada. Be prepared to take a file to them so they fit
 
I think the last time I looked ,My Canadian Tire had a few hanging on the rack.
I don't use them, or like them, so did not really look at them. That was couple weeks ago.
 
Buy the archangel ones which have their own release. I love mine. I order everything online, never had a problem. Saved me a bunch of money over the years. Just watch your cc statement, that should be a no brainer.

Sounds interesting - I'll check out some info on bedding; haven't shot yet but anything to improve on the 'legendary' accuracy of the SKS..

I had a 20 rnd pro mag that I modified the bill plus had to modify the feed lips on to get it to work properly. I found out the long mag just kept getting in the way. I went back to the original mag. Couldn’t shoot off the bench with the mag and besides for looks there really wasn’t any benefits. I just pre load my stripper clips at home with 5 rnds.Factory mag works well.
