Snow Geese Outfitter Recommendations Quebec

March/April for spring snows. The birds are very weather dependent. Can be feast or famine.
November/December for fall snows.
Ontario snow geese can be tough at the best of times. I have hunted ON and northern NY quite a bit. Some good shoots but lots of slow days. I'm going to MB this spring to get into them good.

They are not any easier to hunt in the west come spring either. There is no gimmes in spring snow hunting. They have been shot at every day since September and between that and flocks full of adult birds with several migrations under their belts spring hunting is the toughest! Juvies are the shoot savers and by spring they are pretty wise too. You're reaching out to shoot them most days, 50 yd overhead shots are the norm and you'll burn through a lot of ammo. If you wait for feet down over the decoys shooting you won't shoot nearly as often or shoot as many birds but you'll go through a lot less ammo and have a better experience imo. My wife and I shoot them with 20ga's so we shoot under 40 yards. We rarely shoot limits(50/day per hunter) but we manage to get a few most days. We get a lot of Ross's in late spring and tend to shoot more blues in spring than fall in our area. It's a lot of fun but don't expect any gimme's. You have to do a ton of scouting and even more wishing!

I was supposed to go there on a hunt one year with a couple guys I used to hunt with. I changed my mind and didn't go. They spent a weekend there doing the traditional guided hunt and pretty much spent the whole weekend bird watching. They fired two shots all weekend at the closest flock at about 70 yards! I'm glad I didn't waste my $ or time on that one. They said getting around on the mud flats was brutal.
good to know from your feedback. got a few friends that worked there and never heard anything wrong but i never hunted there too. we hunted many time for snow geese in saguenay but it was not prefessional outfitters and none spoke english and we had a blast of time.
