OK, I've read all the threads but haven't found anyone state how they think the overall quality of the Dominion compares to the Norinco. Someone out there must own one of each, how about posting your opinion. BBB?

From what I've seen, the Dominion hands down has the better finish

Also, no where on it does it have the word 'China'

I'd steer clear of any gun that did

Who sells Dominion guns? Do they have a website? A quick Google search turned up a bunch of false hits. Dominion is not a good word to Google for guns.

the norinco HP9 that marstar sells and the grizz that Can ammo sells are the sames guns.
one has made in china on it the other does not.
Both are good guns.

Wow!!! Are you uniformed!!!!
They are the same friggin gun and both made in China. Finish is better??? Obviously you DONT own both!! They are just imported differently.......that's it man

One way to find out. Are the action bars on the Dominion braze welded to the forend tube??

yes they are brazed.
one of the easy ways of tellign they are the same as the norincos is the fact that even the milling marks aka mistakes on both guns are the same.
the 2 i have tight hear are with in 2000 units of the same serial number.
But one again thers nothing wrong with that, norinco has many grades of guns, as john from marstar as said before.
Thereason it does not say made in china is that if it did many places liek the US would not be able to buy them.

Canuck223, yes, the action bars are brazed to the forend tube on the Dominion Grizzly. (I can't stop playing with my grizzly, ha ha ha)

The Griz's are made in Turkey IIRC?

PRC...just like Norinco.

Don't forget, Norinco is a state owned company that exports firearms. That does not mean that they make all of their firearms and/or parts. Like many industries, they will contract other companies to produce things for them.

ie Norinco contracts factory A to make item XYZ.

CanadaAmmo is a company specialised in importing goods from various suppliers based on criteria they set. They have contracted a supplier7factory to produce the Grizzly based on their own set criteria.

Do they come from the same factory or factories? I don't know. There are however plenty of contracts that are then sub-contracted in addition.

Both are however from PRC, having different markings. If you are hot and bothered by the Made in China factor, buy the Grizzly. If you want a 14" barrel, either wait for CanAm to bring them in or get the HP9-1.

One selling factor is that the Grizzly receiver can be taken to the US. Neither barrel, however, can(get yourself a long spare).

So, to summarize:
Norinco 14" $350 plus shipping
Dominion 12" ( with front sling mount) $289 shipped
Not really a tough decision given that they are the same gun.
Thanks for the info bbb.

Much the same as "Israel Arms" does not say made in China, but it is 100% Norc 1911, with a better finish.
I can contract Norinco to manufacture "GunNutz Arms Kodiac 870" without the made in China stamp. It is called "Brand Labelling" and all manufacturers do it. So yes, Dominion Arms and Norinco are one in the same. Sorry to all you Norc haters.

I find my Grizzly to be smoother cycling than my Hp9-1 I previously had. Made in china or whatever, the griz is very well made and a steal of a deal at $289! Even if you throw it all away and keep the barrel, you're still ahead.

Don't but one... buy 2! :p :D

I find out that 14" shorty with "Norinco HP9" on receiver is way better finish and "feel" quality then "Homeland Security" which is ppl claiming to be the same Norinco made.. go figure out...
