^ when I first started posting here I remember thinking reading these cabin fever threads “ man I wish I could own 5 (7, 10 whatever) guns”.

After serious downsizing that’s exactly the amount of guns I own, but I bet they are a lot nicer than I would have imagined in my mid 20’s

At the time I was certain the only gun I would ever need would be the 2 barrel combo smooth bore rifle sight and 28 inch barrel 870 I used to hunt blacktails. Though I was strongly considering buying a savage 22 :dancingbanana:

22 LR. Ruger 10-22 (plinker, small game)
223 Ruger RPR (Varmint)
6.5x47 Lapua Impact precision (PRS)
308 Remington 700 LTR (hunting)
308 Barnard P (F-Class)
12 gauge Winchester model 12

Multi Cal chassis stuff for me, drilling, etc. That way you can have as many calibers as you want

For sure, they are extremely popular in Europe where there are limits to the number of rifles (receivers, specifically) you can own. I'd still have a dedicated target rifle, but for hunting a composite switch-barrel with .243 and 7-mag is good to go.

1. 22LR - Small Game
2. 223/5.56 - varmint and long pig
3. 6.5x55 Swede - medium - large game
4. .308 - large game and SHTF implement
5. 375H&H - extra large game

6. 12 GA

My “list” would have evolved over time … today would include 17 HMR / .22 LR / 6.5 X 47 Lapua / 308 Win / 20 Gauge. Primary use for each … 17 HMR - gophers / .22LR - gophers and “yard” pest management / 6.5 X 47 - deer/coyotes / 308 - deer / 20 Gauge - “yard” pest management (primarily birds). All but the shotgun are used for target shooting.

22lr probably a bolt
9mm probably not a bolt
243 lever
223 bolt
30-30 or a 308 but I like the 30-30 more
12ga double but I like the 20 better
Each has a purpose with not too much overlap. No plans for any big animal hunting though
