Which SBT should I get

I am toying with the idea of getting a real trap gun. I currently have several model 12 trap grades that I shoot well and a factory BT99 from 1972 which I like but it doesn't fit as well. I have shouldered Perazzi's and Kolars lately at different clubs, even a Blaser and they are all much better balanced and point much nicer than my current guns. I imagine that if I put an adjustable cheek piece and but on my BT99 that it would fit much better but likely would balance like the first P's, K's, B's. I would have to buy used as i can't afford new. I don't know the exact models that I picked up but they were SBT's. I also handled a Citori 725 and XT and those too were extremely well balanced and pointed very nice.

I thought about making a stock on one of my model 12's adjustable but I'd hate to cut one up and those too will still not be as well balanced as the high end SBT's. When I picked them up I said wow that's heavy until I pointed one, then they felt 3 pounds lighter than my model 12.

What are your recommendations.

You can do a lot with a model 12 without destroying the stock as per mine..

precision fit makes one for Model 12..

Sounds like your Bt99 doesn't fit well right now but putting an adjustable comb and butt on it would be the cheapest way to go. You could also buy a second stock for one of your model 12's and have it fitted with an adjustable comb and butt too, just have someone who knows what they're doing adjust it to fit you properly. You can also run into the same problems with more expensive guns and have to have them modified with an adjustable stock too but a new gun is an adventure that many of us are addicted to... however there's nothing wrong with Model 12's or Bt99's.

I know where there is a mint condition 32" bbl BT-99 Trap Max for sale currently at $2300 less than new at the lowest priced dealer in Canada and comes with a Browning traditional hard case. The gun is gorgeous! Send me a PM if you want a link to the fellows ad. Here is the pics from his ad. I thought about buying it after selling my 725 Trap Max but I decided instead to order a PFS stock for my TMS. You could also buy a PFS stock. There is tons of them used for under $1000 US on Trapshooters.com. The stock unit can be used on any model of gun by simply switching grips. Used polymer grips are readily available for model 12's, bt-99's, etc, etc for under $150 and for $170 you can purchase the "ultimate balancer" kit from PFS and find the balance you prefer. The stock comes with a 4oz weight to balance it but the kit gives you multiple weights and the ability to change weights and weight position. I ordered the English Grade 1 wood grip complete stock for my Perazzi TM. It ended up with taxes, shipping, exchange rate etc coming to a hair over $3000 Cdn.

I have a cynergy trap combo I am selling I was asking 4k for it I would sell it for 3800 I am located in mitchell Ontario and you are more than welcome to try it before buying. I am in the midst of trading it but I'm sure the guy trading would rather the money then another gun. Send me a pm and I will shoot you some pictures

I saw that on in the other site. Looks nice but not what I’m looking for.

I was having issues with fitment on my Citori CX, It was beating the absolute #### out of my face.. I traded it, a WK180, and 3k for a Beretta 694 trap with the adjustable comb.

I prefer it having integral chokes, they're the IM and F I used anyway on the Browning but the Beretta is not only a nicer made gun, but it fits me perfectly.

Just read you're looking for a single barrel.

I'm a pylon.

On a side note to fit I purchased a 725 Browning last year (when all 3 of my Italian guns were down) and hoisted three of them all new ,at the firearms store. Everyone fit differently although they were the supposedly exact same Trap model.I chose the best fit put a 1/4 inch spacer in and now is my go to doubles gun .Guess they are not all built on a Wednesday ..
