What is a 12-6 class handgun?

^ it's designed to lessen the number of owners not start a cool club. Essentially with time no one will be 12x...

And this has made Canada safer how?

Haha. That I find hilarious. There's probably some great history to the law but keeping legislation that bans .32 & .25 caliber handguns. -Shakes his head.- Dear me.

12-6 also includes .25 & .32 cal handguns.

Designed or adapted to fire .25 and .32 calibre cartridges. Prohibition is sort of based on cartridge, not actual bore dimensions.
For example, prohibited .32 ACP (7.65mm Short) and .32 S&W pistols aren't .32 calibre by bore measurement, their bores are actually closer to the dimensions of a .303, bullet diameter is about .312".
.323" groove diameter pistols like the 8mm Lebel and Nambu are not prohib, even though they are actually .32 calibre. French service pistols in 7.65mm Long are not prohib, even though the cartridge uses a bullet the same diameter as the 7.65mm Short, and they will chamber the cartridge.

The 105mm length for prohibited status is measured from the breech face to the muzzle, unless the pistol is a revolver, when it is measured from the front of the cylinder to the muzzle.

I have seen some handguns are 12-6 class. What is it? Can somebody teach me?

Have you considered taking a CFSC course:confused:? Or if already taken, was there no mention of this at all:eek:? Somethings strange with that then...

It is a little funny that they'd ban .25's - the real danger of a .25 is that if you shoot someone with one, and they figure out you shot them, they'll be P*ssed. The other thing that's wierd about the 12.x system is that you can be licensed to own a full auto 50 cal, but still get busted for a .32 Derringer, or you could be licensed for machine guns /converted auto/other prohibs/small pistols, but you can't get a permit for a blowgun (no that's not a joke) or a Taser.
