1911 takedown tool

Does anyone know where I can get something like this in Canada? I'm currently using a paperclip, but I'd like a more solid option.

Reverse hat plug. Some 1911s esp the bull barrel ones. You basically had to lock the slide to the rear and stick a pin in the guide rod, to keep the guide rod and spring as one. So you can remove it.

STI had a guide rod. You put a tool on like a valve stem keeper, to lock the spring, compressed.

My Caspian in the early 2000s required a pin. I left a IPSC match in Truro because decided to clean my gun and the staple I used broke. Launching a piece into the safety berm. I had to send it to Gunnar as it was his creation.

Push the firing pin forward to slide the stop plate out? I dunno. Unless it's something to do with Kimber's firing pin block system.
I was under the impression you could disassemble the whole gun tooless except for using a 45acp round as a screwdriver for the grips.

Could Google. Like I said above, few 1911s designs require captivating the spring to remove.

That's what I'm currently using (paperclip). Just figured for a few bucks, it'd be worth it over the paperclip. Just can't find it in Canada.

I can probably find something in my tool set to use instead.

Should be stronger than a paperclip. You just have to cut the shorter part.

Welcome to bushingless 1911s, no barrel wrench needed. A simple L pin is all you need.

Found a old photo of my Caspian slide. With reverse top hat plug. Its rusting some where on Vahalla range in Truro.


Mainly USGI 1911 parts could be uses, but it isnt 1940s tools are easier to get.
