2022 Waterfowl thread

My son and I had a good shoot after the first snowfall had melted. Hammered Canada's with a couple of Italian shotguns, at the edge of a corn and barley field. Inexpensive Challenger shotgun shells work really great, easy to locate after the shoot.

A small retriever for large canadas! Also a reminder to all that get to shoot Sandhills, make sure the bird is dead before you let your dog go. That spear of a beek can quickly blind a dog. Ps nice group af geese.

Not quite finished. Short hunt on Lake Simcoe this morning.

Anyone hunt waterfowl in the South Okanagan or Princeton area? I know waterfowl can be challenging in the Okanagan but just looking for tips since I see Geese absolutely everywhere on beaches and orchards where I am located.

Well done reddog.
Buddy and I got 10 that Saturday jump shooting them in ditches. Now everything is frozen and covered in snow so we are done until it thaws.
Is that a springer you have with your lab?

No, GSP ,she is not fond of duck hunting especially in this weather but she is murder on pheasants and grouse. Both are 6 now so hitting their prime, :)

A video I put together with a few highlights from the past decade waterfowling on the prairies. I can't believe I've been here 10 years already. I should have moved here 40 years ago when I finished school. Oh well here is to the next 10 years.

Great video, Spank! We are blessed in Alberta and Saskatchewan to have the best waterfowl hunting in Canada.
