Reborn Marlin 1895 improved by Ruger. Shot some Hornady 45-70 on range day and pounded the hell out of a head sized trg at 100m.

Smoothed out edges, enlarged loading port with lower spring pressure to reduce finger killing, fibre optic sight, threaded barrel for suppressor, in general better quality than the old remington, according to Ruger's rep.

Really appreciate the smoothed out edges, shot other cheaper lever guns they actually hurt to manipulate.

MSRP 1479

I spoke to the rep about 336 delivery. He said not next year and only possibly in 2025.

I’m skeptical, they also said that not many of the 1895s would come up, and there seems to be a decent number of them in the last few weeks alone.

The 1894 .357 mag will be their best seller I’d be willing to bet… but the American market is going to gobble those up even faster than the 45-70 since they can be shot at a somewhat reasonable price and that are a pistol caliber.

A 336 in 25-35 Win would be hard to pass up for small game hunting in my .275" max. county.

But, what I really 'want' is a Marlin 1894 44Mag/44Spl c/w 24" Octagon barrel.
Factory drilled & tapped tang for a peep site would be a real plus.

This news is probably the reality of these Marlins getting imported into Canada.

The new 336 Classic in 30-30 looks like a real gem, I'm certain the Americans will buy these up faster than Ruger can make them.

I personally look forward to the stainless trapper versions of both models.

I also still dream of a stainless trapper in 41 magnum, I know it's a dream but there is a huge 41 magnum cult type following that many people are a part of...........:)

You have been fortunate to find the 45-70 models you have. The small communities of Westlock and Barrhead may not have the extreme demand the larger cities have.

I believe what Calgary Shooting Center stated, these new 336 and 1894 models will be tough to find in the up-coming years.

One will have to use Irunguns, Prophet River, Borderview and other importers to get their hands on one of these new beauties.
