Besides the Leupold being lighter and a little shorter, is there any compelling reason to go with it over a Bushnell?

Better glass, more reliable, etc?

They look great and I like the idea of fixed 4x but I don't know if I "twice the price" like it?

What do you guys think?

Undeniable warranty.
Better resale value if you decide to part with it.
Friends of friends don’t let them buy Bushnull.

Leupolds work as good as they look.

I'm a die hard Leupold guy. I used to have all sorts of brands, including an Elite 3200 2-7 but I eventually sold them all off to replace them with Leupolds. The biggest downfall of the Elite was the eye relief changed significantly with the magnification. Other than that it was a decent scope. I just prefer Leupold, mostly for the weight. They are often the lightest scopes in the magnification/objective size and for someone like me that walks a million miles and doesn't even own a sling, the weight is important.

bushnell elite is a class on his/her own and the deniers are the ones never used them ... never had to send back to warranty a made in japan elite but a shame they are not anymore made or sold on our market ...

I have and use both and can’t really see a difference! Other than the Leupold look better to my eyes, they are more classic imo just because they didn’t change the cosmetics a lot over the years where as bushnell did quite a bit and to me they look cheaper, but like I said I think both are as good to me!

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the input, from all sides.

Never had a problem with the LOW/Japanese made Elite either, do think they are great for the money...but there is something to be said about that whole "break it 20 years from now and we'll deal with it" aspect of a Leupold....whereas the Elites are discontinued.

Although, you can still buy two for the price of a Leupy.

Nothing beat new leupold Freedom Rimfire 2-7x33 for price and quality. I put Leupold VXII 3x9-40 beside Leupold Freedom rimfire 2-7x33, and Freedom so much lighter and better quality.
Many guys are confused that Leupold freedom rimfire scope is made for rimfire only. It is wrong. I called Leupold and they confirmed that Leupold freedom rimfire only has spesific notches for rimfire trajectory, BUT will work without problems with any magnum caliber.

I don't have an FX II, but I compared the Bushnell to my M8 4x, with the power set on 4x for the Bushnell. Even though both are 4x, the view through the Leupold is like looking through a window, while the Bushnell is like looking down a tunnel. The black "ring" that you see while viewing through the ocular is much more prominent in the Bushnell. I had that scope on my .223 for a while, but the narrow view bugged me so much I took it off and replaced it with a cheap fixed 6x Weaver.
