2 inch recoil pad

Does anyone know if a 2 inch recoil pad is available. A rifle butt I have was shortened that I am trying to build up without having to use spacers. The thickest one I have found so far is 1 1/2 inches.

Your probably going to have to go with spacers between pad and stock. They come in different colours and thickness.

One of my favourite YT gun channels is Mark Novak's ANVIL. He's a chatty, working gunsmith who likes to repair things rather than fabricate from new material. If you brought a gun with a short butt to his shop, he'd go to the scrap stock bin and selection a matching piece of wood with end grain to match.

I would use a spacer. Some of the really thick pads are designed for shotgun use and may collapse too fast to absorb much recoil when used with rifle cartridges.

Get a 2*4 off cut and a nice leather slip on pad.

Gliding end grain to end grain is going to go poorly. You'll want to use mechanical fasteners.

You could buy a few pairs of cheap flipflops and layer them to the right thickness and glue that to the but of the stock, grind to fit and done! I bet one could go crazy and make it multi coloured pad!!

I have an Allen slip on recoil pad which I quite like. They come in 3 sizes. This is a far easier way to add some LOP.
