Relining

Hi,

Nine35.com imports liners from TJ and they are excellent liners but I think they are $11/ inch. If your barrel is very long it is usually cheaper and easier to install a new barrel. ML barrels come into Canada without issue. What caliber is your rifle? How long is the barrel? How wide is the barrel (distance across the flats)?
 
IMO if you're patient you can find another one for less then what you pay to reline yours.

Investarms are great shooters with patched balls. My first .50cal is anyway, after I shimmed the adjustable rear sight. The sight blade was a little sloppy. I won provincials and a few trail walks with it.
5 years ago it was a 275 dollar investment with a mildly rough breech area, which cleaned up after about 100 balls.

And while you wait for a deal to show up, take the breech plug off and use a bronze brush with lots of penetrating oil. Clean the the rust out, and just shoot that thing. You may be surprised.
I have one of these as well. On the pictures it looked like a Green River Rifle Works hawken. But it was a fixed breach, bubba parts collection with a GRRW lock and trigger group. The barrel looked absolutely hopeless at first.
It was from a used gun site in Quebec.
It is still a parts collection, but it shoots good now. I have to scrub it after about 20 balls. Down the road I may use the lock and trigger for a proper Hawken build.

I already found another barrel in 50 that shoots far better. Deep slow rifling. 65gr of FFG and 0.020 ticking.

But I want a 40cal too.
 
you might be surprised after spending a afternoon with a tight jag ,kroil and valve grinding compound ( hand lap the crap out) so what if it is oversized a bit round balls bump up.
 
Going to .40 cal would be bob Hoyt territory he makes his own liners from what I gather.

He is down in PA he doesn’t do computers so going to have to give him a call.

I'm very familiar with Bobby, I didn't think a person could simply drop a barrel in the mail.

Trust me this one isn't worth trying to restore in current caliber.
