New Apex Optics from Calgary

Somewhere between 22 and 26 oz. That's the weight range that includes the Vortex LHT and Bushnell LRHS. I've used those and I think thye're good weight for a ffp hunting scope.

It would have to come in at or less than 22 OZ or it'll be a no go for me.

Agreed. 20-22 would really get my attention. But not at the expense of durability & repeatability.

Preorder for the Hunter is out now...Looks like its a match to the Bushnell LRHSi that I already have except the Bushnell is 18x.

I'll pass on this one for now :(

The ret. is at the bottom of the page, it looks nice but 26 oz makes it a no go for now.

Found it. Thnx. It’s ok, but not great.

I could live with 26, if everything else is there. Durable repeatability, reticle, etc. I’m not willing to sacrifice those for a few ounces.

It's hard to make a premium ED-glass scope with an Apochromatic lens system weigh less than this one does. You're trading off repeatability and durability, or you're trading off image quality.

I'm amazed at all the people whining about a few oz. I know they add up, but this is still 2 - 4 oz lighter than the PST gen 2, and the non-illuminated same as the Bushnell Lrhs.
Use a lightweight mount such as an Aero or a all in one like DNZ, or pack a few less skittles in your bag.
I'd rather have it be reliable and repeatable with good glass than a couple of oz lighter. There are trade offs with every scope, but I like what Apex is doing. Keep it up.

Maybe some day Apex will build a scope that the others like me want, or maybe not...pretty simple, spend your money on what you desire.

I'm hoping they will do a Lighter version of the Hunter in the near future, if they don't...then that's fine too. :)

A couple months on from the last post in this topic - anyone have an Apex optic in use in the field or on the range?

Anyone taking the plunge and ordering the Edge 1-10x24 LPVO for the Summer release?

I ordered up an Edge at the Calgary Easter gun show.
It'll be a nice service rifle optic I think.

Has anyone received the Edge optic? I see that their website is still showing "available for pre-order" instead of a straight order as of today (August 14, 2023)

I'm really curious about the quality of this optic - I'd love to upgrade to it at some point.

Last comms from APEX was that they are delayed.

I'm hoping to do at least one last Service Rifle match for the year with one strapped to the rifle.
