This Colt was built by the Colt Custom shop in 2005 for the 2006 E-Show!

It's made on a NM frame, NM trigger, bushing. (some internal parts changed) Novak sights, arched-checkered MSH, E. Brown grip safety, all dehorned, serrated front strap! It came with Colt cocobolo & gold medaillion stocks!

Only 30 were made, a friend of mine from California has #27...I have #30.
It's the only one that has entered Canada!

Wow, what a beaut...

For years, I spent a shotload on limited edition LPs, and now I learn there's a market for limited edition firearms... I'm doomed.

Very nice.... I thought that all the Colt NM [National Match] frames were cut for a wide trigger, though?

And the serial number is in the range of the Colt 1991A-1 series pistols. In fact the slide has the 1991 "new roll mark" [NRM] script "COLT'S-GOVERNMENT MODEL-.45 AUTOMATIC CALIBER", although it does have the NM slide serrations..... Interesting.... does your pistol have the Series 80 firing pin safety system on it?

Very good observations, I expected nothing less from you!

I had the same discussion last week with a friend of mine from USA. It is a gold cup frame but it has been serialized as a 1991...error? I don't think so?
It does have the wide trigger. The slide is definitely a GC but with the 1991 NRM...Why?? Yes it has the Series 80 guizmo.

I called Joe Canali (head of Colt custom shop), and he confirmed that it was built on a GC frame.

My guess is that they wanted a gun with the NM frame and trigger but the purpose was also to promote the new 1991 and the 0 package so the reason of the NRM. Colt has been known to make "weird" things, and limited special runs over the years.

The gun model: 01991ZZ (CT1991ZZ E-SHOW)

I told you it was unique!:)

Sorry...have to go and take care of prproulx!:wave:

pr. That is unfortunate...but how many Colts did you own that have been that bad!

A few! I just think that kind of workmanship should go into all of them. Look at the beavertails on some series 80 Gold Cups. I had one that had not been deburred at all by the looks of it. Most had sloppy slide to frame fit. I'll still buy them though.

That is very unfortunate and I am quite surprised! Every company makes a lemon once in a while but that obvious!
Have you contacted Colt on that matter? What's the DOB of your gun? Did you buy it new, by mail, why didn't you return it?

I know that Colt had some quality issues at some point (in the 80's) finish, loose front sight etc. But most Colt owners agree that the quality in the last years is at its best! And since 1996 all Colts are guaranteed for life!

Cheers!
