Hello friends,

I’m in the Kingston/Napanee area of Ontario and I have recently retired from the Army and I’m looking at getting back into hunting. Im looking for advice on how to find a hunt camp to join, I know it’s usually a matter of who you know but unfortunately with all the moving I don’t know many locals.
Any advice or leads would be amazing.

Thanks all

Many camps are suffering from an aging membership, and are in need of fresh blood. Suggest you join a local range, and do some networking. Thats how connections are made in my neck of the woods.

I would suggest (if you haven't already) joining the OFAH and posting on their magazine forum. www.oodmag.com There's many members there who would be a wealth of information.

Try to get in on small game/turkey and work your way up.

They are interviewing you.
You need to prove you aren't an A-hole and they don't want to find that out day 2 of a 14 day camp.

We were looking to join a camp about 8 years ago on Manitoulin, posted an ad in the local paper, lots of replies. As said, lots of groups aging out and needing new guys. This is the time to do it, don't wait until Nov 1

There's also Moose hunters in Ontario, bear hunters, probably turkey hunters, Winchester groups, .30-30, .30/06, 7x57, 9.3x62... lots of different groups, depending on your interests.

Pretty new to FB but joined Axe junkies, Canadian Axe lovers, Axe bazaar, Axe restoration and collecting, The Axe market, Antique vintage and collectable tools, and London Ontario Canada area woodworking.
Also some buy and sell groups of course.
The rabbit hole keeps getting deeper...
I may offer a couple of spots to archery deer clients from an outfitter's POV, hence my interest in WT Ontario group.
