Norinco Olypia is fun fun fun

You can get snap caps, and those little plastic gyprock screw inserts work , but I just pull the trigger on a empty chamber most of the times.
The proper snap caps don't last very long.
If you are anal, you can use a fired case, I don't like the idea.
I had a couple target rapid fire guns that I would do that , but the firing pin would hit the barrel on them.

At one time I had a lot of test 22 ammo, it was dummy rounds for testing 22 actions and they worked good, dark green in color , but I have used them all up .
Forgot where I got them 30-40 yrs ago.
International Firearms maybe?

My new one arrived yesterday. While I have not had a chance to shoot it yet, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fit and finish once it was cleaned up. Looking forward to getting to the range with it.

Very impressed as well! Wished I purchased more magazines when they were available. No issues with the mags and no failures to feed or fire in the 200 rounds shot so far.
Have to press the mag release to load and needed to put some paint on the front sight but overall very impressed
Thanks Marstar!

I had this problem too, but after forcefully putting it in a few times I don't need to press the mag release anymore.

Those at Marstar are not the original magazines by Norinco. They are made by TripleK and have capacity of 9 rounds rather than 8 like the original Norinco mags. I'm not sure if they fit the Olympia pistol well. May be someone, who bought them from Marstar, could comment? They are also rather pricey at $39.95 per mag!

Supposedly mags from the S&W 41 will work with a small mod Comment from the video There is one minor issue, the empty magazine hold-open will not work with the modified magazine due to differences in the guide pin location in the follower.

There is also a good tip at the end about the securing the tiny screw on the rear sight.

After adjusting the rear sight I used a blue Loctite (#242) on that tiny screw. No problems.
In general, I'm very impressed with the Norinco Olympia TT. Probably, it's the best pistol buy I've ever made.

Anybody have idea if its okay to dry fire seldomly just to let the tension off the internal hammer before it gets stored?

With 22s I hate to dry fire. If the firing pin hits the chamber wall it peens a mark that will cause jamming and it can break the pin.

What I do with a semi auto is pull the slide back a mm or 2 and then dry fire. By pulling the slide back a bit, the pin does not reach the chamber wall.

I am very pleased to hear all these positive reports! I got my Olympia perhaps a month ago, but Old Man Winter has prevented me from getting to the Range. I have been too "frugal" to spring for a day pass to the indoor range … but maybe I'll have to loosen up and go, since just today I received some other handguns I bought in an online auction in August … including a nice used .22/.22Mag Ruger Single Six "Buntline".

The other handguns bought in the August auction are some vintage .32ACP pistols … because they were cheap ... and I'm grandfathered for 12(6) ... and I figured my poor, lonely .32ACP Model 1905 Webley & Scott pistol needed some company. Matter of fact - really getting in just under the wire - I bought a few more in the Switzer auction on September 28, and just yesterday got e-mail notification of transfer authorization for three of the four bought in that sale. When all is said and done, in addition to my Model 1905 Webley & Scott and a number of prohibited revolvers, my little "prohib collection" will include two Browning Model 1900 pistols, two Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless pistols, a Savage Model 1907 pistol, a FN Browning Model 1910 and a FN Browning Model 1922 … ::) … but I suppose it will end up being capped there, at least until we can turf out Sock Boy and his evil minions ...

They actually easily hold 10 rounds despite being advertised as 9 and fit just as well as the original. I will be taking them to the range this weekend so we'll see how reliable they are.

Very good. Please report back how it was at the range. I'm still not convinced that I should buy them at nearly $40 apiece especially if they are not reliable.

I hear you - The old me would expect that they'd be reliable for that money. Truth is, not many magazines of any kind are going for less than $40 now. Certainly not hard to find magazines for relatively uncommon pistols.

Took my Olympia for a spin today. Shoots very well, although the sights leave much to be desired. Feeding issues are fairly common.

Reliability seems to be comparable to the stock mags. One oddity, if you insert the mag with the slide locked back, the slide hangs up and will not move forward to chamber a round. On the last round when the slide locks back, when you remove the mag the slide moves forward instead of staying locked back. Doesn't happen every time but often enough to be annoying. Is it worth $40? Probably not but I'd rather have 4 mags than 2 and I don't see Marstar bringing in any more of the stock mags in the future.

I had the same feeding issues with my first outing. I talked to Payam at Marstar ( the guy in the video) and he said that they break in pretty well after 200 rounds. Today I fed it only mini mags and it ran like a top. No feeding issues at all. Quite accurate considering the price, though shoots about 3 inches high at 15 yards. My sight screws came chewed up out of the box and the left one is pretty well effed but I was able to move the rear sight over a bit loosening the right hand smaller screw which appears to be a set screw.
