Large Rifle Primers

Two years into a primer shortage. Large rifle are going for $40 to $50 per hundred if you can find them.

Seriously? Are people really paying $40-50 dollars for a pack of 100 LR primers? I thought those ads on the EE were a spoof. At that price "plinking" with a centerfire rifle is a thing of the past, likewise load development. Rough for folks just getting in the game.

Under a rock? don't think so.

Yeah and WW3 is starting

Welcome out from under the rock.

It’s sucks out here.

Continuous war has been happening quite awhile now, tempo has picked up a bit of late. I thought everyone knew to buy it cheap and stack it deep.I learned that lesson several primer shortages ago. sad to say but some folks seem to be late to the party . a hard rain is gonna fall and I don't think the storm has even started.

take care and cheers!

Somebody advertised Sleeves of 100 LR Primers at $ 100.** or 1000.** $ a Brick. What has this World come too ?

Cheers

The gun and ammo industry is killing itself. No components, and if ever some are found, outrageous price.
They are doing the job of the antis.
Less and less shooters can keep up with the hike and new ones, just plain cannot afford it.
Seen more Club member sell and quit the sport in the last 2 years than ever before in my 50 years of shooting..

And what can be said of the sharks screwing other shooter's …shooting sports are not on a survival track but on an extinction track.

big bear,

Do you believe keeping those Fed #200 primers for close to 1/2 a century that they will reproduce?
hint-
Fed 200's are now SPP's
Fed 205's are SRP's.

With 180+ thousand primers on hand/location.......I'm not running out....in a few years!!

That is the ad that I saw that motivated my post. $1/primer???So any kind of shooting completion will cost you in the neighborhood of $100 just for your primers.Guess just really old guys will be competing because the young guys wson't have ammo or components. That is not good. Pricesv are coming down in the south so maybe things will improve. If that is the case, everyone should take note and lan ahead.

Just the results an archaeological dig

Just retired so I had time to rearrange my reloading space. Came across these in a box of random stuff under the bench. I thought the price would give folks a chuckle.I loaded some 223 with them and they worked just fine.

Recent events seem to have exposed the high level of selfishness in our society. Bad times seem to bring out more of the "I've got mine ,Jack" than "we are all in this together". Good to know when it's reloading components so you know what to expect when it comes to food, water, medications.the scab has been pulled off and the festering sore ids revealed.

Like most firearms related things I should have been buying things long before I started but these prices are keeping me as a young person with not a lot of money from reloading anything becides handguns hopefully they get better some day but I won’t hold my breath

Atleast I have a bit of LRP and SRP, ain't payin $20 per 100! Isn't economical to reload when supplies are so expensive!

I'd like to use magnum primers but when guys are asking 4-500 per brick I'll not reload.
