Ok so I have a Tisas B45 Duty in .45 ACP caliber coming and I would like to get some additional magazines for it.

This may sound like a stupid question but are all 1911 mags compatible as long as they are the correct caliber?

Generally speaking - yes. All of my 1911 mags fit all of my 1911 pistols (all 45 ACP) - regardless of make/manufacture.

Mostly yes, but not all.

There are officer's frame magazines, which are shorter. There are also double stack 1911 magazines. But both of these are relatively uncommon.

And some magazines will have base pads incompatible with mag wells. Your Tisas is a pretty typical version of the 1911 without a mag well, so you will be fine with any standard length 1911 single stack 45ACP magazine.

As above, recommend you buy quality. Many 1911 issues arise from poor magazines. And I recommend you buy many if you find a fair price - Magazines are an essential part of the operating system, and they are a consumable item.

You'll probably see Wilson Combat and Chip McCormick as the most commonly recommended high-end mags.

There are many others. MecGar has a good reputation for 1911 mags. I've had perfect luck with various Norinco 1911 mags over the years (they are a very good copy of the original military mags), but QC is spotty.

You can get 7-rd and 8-rd, give that some thought, too.

Yes, May I suggest Act mags made in Italy excellent quality, your Tisas should come with one or two Act mags as did mine. Dlask arms also sells Act mags under their brand name at a very reasonable cost, singles or packs of four.

Ironically the two magazines I have never had issues with are plain GI pattern Norinco mags. Mec-gar have stupid stepped followers that make SWC and TC profiles nosedive down on the last round. Wilson, Tripp etc. are good of course but I haven't found any exceptional value in them. Other magazines work just as well...

What he said officer mags are shorter since it’s a slightly smaller 1911.
Correct me if I’m wrong boys, I’m not much of a hand gunner

There is more - not all 45 ACP mags will hold the bolt open after the last shot. This results in much confusion on the part of beginners and some would be aficionados who squawk like a crow and complain when this happens. It does not mean the clip is faulty!!

You're flirting with trouble using anything but the normal ogive bullets in a semi. All the fun shapes run great in revolvers!

No trouble at all with GI or non-ambi follower mags. A revolver would be great but it was far enough down my list I never got to it before Justin's ban.
