Ok english is not my primary language, I want to buy a ar15 and was wondering what kind of shooting people do with that ??? target, rundown, inside or outside. His there a place in Québec where you can practice with that firearm. Any input will be great thank you.

When you modified a ar15 which part need to be register ? when I buy a barrel or an upper do I need to register them ?

Thank you sorry if that has been asked thousand time !!!

Only register the lower receiver. You can only shoot at an approved range since AR15 is restricted, but just about any range other than a gravel pit is approved :) You'll need an ATT and all that crap.

Only target shooting at an approved range is allowed with AR15's. There are some competitions but always at ranges.

It's still a hell of a lot of fun!

Wherever men are free they can shoot their AR......um....oh wait, that would be only in the U.S.A. ......we only have a watered down version of freedom (aka. pseudo-freedom).:(

In the 'good ol' days' my pappy and I used to wack varmints with a colt sp1...Thank sweet zombie jebus they didn't get the ol' PROHIB status!

I asked this before in a thread somewhere, but there doesn't seem to be an answer:

Is there a comprehensive list somewhere of rifle ranges that are approved for restricted firearms?

And by "rifle range", I don't mean a 25m pistol range rated for centrefire rifles, I mean proper rifle ranges, i.e. 100m+.

I hardly get to use my AR-15 (and I'm comparing to the UK, God help me). The only ranges I know of around here are the one out on Hwy 68 (APRA) which requires a range booking and the 50m range at TSE.

It'd be nice if there were a 100-200m range around somewhere that was approved for restricted rifles where you could show up when you fancied.

I quite fancied getting one of those Kahr Arms M1 carbines but there doesn't seem to be much point.

I read in the Ottawa Citizen article that there are only 3,704 registered AR-15s in Canada, which I don't quite believe because I think they based that on their CFC database abstract which isn't complete, but even if it's twice that, it's a pretty small number.

Made for an excellent Seal Rifle as well! Those were the days, when reason and logic held sway and political correctness was just a faint nightmare, lurking in the back of the uber-left wing's minds.:(

Calgary District Target Shooter's Association. CDTSA. They have a 100m rifle range to the southeast of the city.

You'll need to become a member, and there are range hours that have to be abided by - but it strikes me as being a lot like what you're looking for.

It's a fact that 'military type' rifles have no use in hunting purpose because they annihilate any animal shot with them, leaving the meat blood shot and unedible. No true sportsman has any want for US-Style Assault Rifle 'Spray and Pray" hunting to be legal.

I came by this fact when it was offered up by a police firearms expert in the debate on firearm prohibitions leading up to bill C-21.

Go buy your AR15 and come and join us at CRAFM, yes you can shoot at 50y only but it's the only place in the Montreal area where you can shoot a rifle indoor.

BTW they sell AR at CRAFM.
