Hello all
Looking for little help assessing a value for the Remington BDL deluxe 700 in 300 savage which I’m considering moving but getting some very mixed pricing apparently only 800 were made for this year in 1990 I’m assuming the value in its condition would have to be in the upper scale it has open sites 22 inch barrel blueing 99 percent jeweling in beautiful order on the the bolt wood does have some typical marking but in very clean condition.
I’ve seen some pretty high values on gun brokers but would like some input from our Canadian collectors any input would be appreciated.

A quick google and found from a low of usd $700.00 with a scope to usd $1500.00 at Cabelas in Mn.
In Canada the world is your oyster or it isnt , such as the wind blows.
Maybe a G Note ....
Condition and flavour of the week is everything.
Now to check out the BB of gun values.

Remington made the 700 in different calibre runs for different years and called them the "Classic". As Rob has noted, $1000 is a decent starting point, you can always go down. If someone collects the Classics, this may be one that will fill the hole in a collection. Once again, condition dictates price, along with scarcity.

I’d wouldn’t be in a hurry to sell it. Start higher. You won’t see another one for sale for years if ever. Put the words “rare” in the add too. For full effect.

Personally I would avoid "rare", a word overused to a ridiculous degree on the EE. 700 classic, only produced in .300 Savage for one year works better. I had one in .35 Whelan, nice rifle back when Remington still had a good reputation for quality. I would start at $1500 as has been said you can always lower the price. Pretty hard to raise it when something gets two or three "I'll take its" in the first hour.

If this was made in 1990, it is likely not a "Classic", since that was issued in 2003.
I had one, had a 24" barrel with no sights attached.
I'm thinking that the OP's 700 is a limited edition of some sort or other. Dave.

Classic was introduced in late 1980's. I bought mine early 90's. They ran for several years, different calibre every year. The 300 was one of them. Just looked it up, was wondering myself. Limited edition Classic introduced 1981 in 7x57 ran with different chambering every year til 2005. The 300 Savage was 2003. 25 different chamberings exist .

The OP is correct, the 700 BDL was a catlogue item in .300 Savage 1991 and 1992. I've never even seen one. A Remington collector would probably be glad to scoop it up. Probably woth double what a 700 BDL in say .30/06 is worth to a collector.

I have bought two of these in the past, though quite un common, they are not very sought after, and that inlies the reason they did not do a larger run.
Bought both for around $1200.00
Both had box and papers
Both were 98% and better condition. One was unfired and still in the plastic.
Would I pay more than 1200 for one now? No, any BDL(not varmint special) to me that was a normal run(not a special run) 300 Savage was a normal run, just a limited quantity for a limited time. To most guys in not worth much more than $1200 If you have a huge love for the cal then you might find the unicorn buyer that would pay lets say 1500 for one, but that would be on the outside.
My 2 cents
At 1500 I think you will be bumping your add alot, you see this quite a bit on this site and other sites that the higher than 1200 priced bdl rifles have been for sale for a long time.

If only this post was up 3 weeks ago….. I would have probably paid whatever you were asking. Too deep into a custom compact 300 Savage now. Just my luck!

A brand new model 700 cdl is running 1670$ plus tax now. And most would rather have an older one assuming it’s in excellent condition

But, was this not the vintage of that killer trigger that killed hundreds of unsuspecting hunters?
all kidding aside there has to be one or two guys here frothing at the mouth filling the guys inbox with silly offers ;)
No "rare" needed,lol.

Yeah I bet. And then you’ll see it on the ee for twice the price in less than a month. Bunch of animals ;)

So it was mentioned as a bdl a quotes are of a classic which is it
Us prices know beating on Canadian market what do ever do that is not a reference.
If condition is as new possibly 1400$ Canadian then down from there as condition declines

It is a BDL according to the OP. They were made in 300 savage in very limited numbers 1991 and 1992.

I agree. Unless you find someone that just has to have the rifle, a grand is likely the optimistic top end. If it was a Classic I'd be more willing to entertain high prices, but the BDL isn't really all that and a bag of chips. That ugly gloss finish, white line spacers, hokey monte carlo stock...not for this kid, bu tsure as anything someone will show up to tell me that I'm out of my mind.
