My Dominion Arms Grizzly is in. Initial pics! Function test up! X2

on the screw in chokes thing, what does it cost to get a smith to do the barrel to accept them?

Too much imho.

CanAm will be bringing in barrels in the spring with pre-threaded ends w/chokes. This will likely be much cheaper than threading the current Grizzly barrel and buying chokes.

I believe there will be options to order the Griz with a threaded barrel and chokes straight up in the future as well.

very nice, i wasnt sure if it was a cheap thing to get done or expensive.

dont know how much id need the option i just like to have it for if i did have a need

My stock set has shipped and the sling plate is en route. Paint? bead blast and hot blue? Ghost ring sights(tritium)? Or XS sights tritium bead? Decisions decisions....

Ya man, hurry and up decide for the both of us would you :D

I'm thinking of going with the factory Mossberg 590's

Please don't. I freak'n hate those things. Their guts are showing and they look cheap and chunky.

And I've decided to go Big dot tritium bead.

I dont know about that. The 500s might be cheap but the 590s are really solid and I like their aesthetics. My 500 has the safety in the right place and It's way easier to load without the shell lifter getting in your way.

Here's a pic of my 870, not a Griz but its got the houge forend and an S&J sling mount.

Tell me more about that scope mount/side saddle. :)

This is what I am wanting; the middle one. Bonus is that all it needs is to be epoxied over the existing bead. I see they are listed on the shooting edge website. I'll look into it.

XS Big Dot Tritium Front Sights

shotgun4.jpg
The Big Dot Tritium front sight improves sight acquisition speed and tritium enhances Low-Light use of the defensive shotgun.
Features:
  • Easy Installation.
  • Epoxies over the existing front bead sight.
  • Trijicon® Tritium vials.

Probably pretty good. I believe wilson combat GR sights require epoxy for the front sight. Bonus: if it pops off, just look for it at night! :p :D

Fabarm: $829

Grizzly: $289

Two very different shotguns. Both provide very good value. I would personally feel less stressed out if Kevin.303 was fondling my gizzly than my Fabarm. The fabarm is complete out of the box, but some users are WTF do I need a rail on the forend for? The grizzly from what I'm experiencing is VERY good out of the box, with a lot of room for modification if desired. I will be replacing the stock and getting a sling plate from Bad boy. I am also considering painting and a set of tritium ghostrings. :D

As for ousting the Fabarm... time will tell. I'll have to do some tweaking & testing.

After your done with the mods talk to me and I'll put it in the safe beside your ... my HP9.:D

Range day, feb 3rd 08

Took it out to the range and did some quick patterning at 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25M. It seems to be effective to 20M, but things are getting thin at that point. 25M as you can see, you're pushing it. I tested my 6 O'clock hold, and I was correct. Again, not a single FTF or FTE, she's running smooth.
