Apparently, the Siberian's Gas Regulator backs itself out the same way as the WK-180C did.

Has anyone else experienced this?

No experience in regards to this but I do love that comment on reddit: "why can chinese slave laborers sh!t out ar-15s for $500 that will go for 10k rounds but canadian gun companies cant make guns for triples that cost and wont even last 1k rounds"

I love this comment from Murray which I mentioned a few days ago in regards to Chinese accessories:

"BUT name me another country that produces fake Midwest Industry Forends and even has the audacity to put there pat number on it ?!%$"

Amen to that ^^^^^ though the excepton would be ATRS.

The one I bought was loose before it was ever fired.

I’d recommend a nut and bolt check before heading to the range

Huge element of truth there.

Every time BCL brings out another product I think maybe this will be the one that doesn't suck... still waiting...

Bad Carbine Launched at it again, dont wait any more either pay stupid high prices for a decent semi or get a bolt action, chasing the semi dream leads to crap products launched and pissed off buyers.

Conservatives need to bring back the AR and end this crap production line of Canadian (not all) junk.

The Armalite AR180B cost $650 usd when it came out in 2001 or so, had a square folded steel upper, rifle length gas system and the 2 I owned were only limited, IMO, by the hinge point of the polymer lower. I had the hinge break on me after 50 rds, no abuse of the rifle whatsoever and even being over cautious because I knew it was a weak point. I sold the second before it could become an issue and then a few years later the NoDak Spud milled aluminum lowers became available. If I would have known this I would have bought one and never sold my 180B, that would have addressed the only issue I had with the gun. To me it’s baffling why Canadian 180s have to be so overengineered, held together with set screws etc when the whole AR180 concept was conceived around simplicity and economical manufacturing by less developed countries.

Agreed. The really weird thing is the decision by so many companies (except now the WK181) to have the gas piston be one part instead of two interlocking parts like the original AR-180 - it just eliminates both weight and breakage issues. Throwing more steel at it just seems like a "work thicker, not smarter" decision - overengineering, as you say, sort of, except I consider good engineering to be the best, cost-effective and weight-effective part solution.

putting a flange on the piston to stop the spring like on the ar180 would make the piston assembly too tall to use an ar-style handguard.

and imagine the amount of whine from all the internet operators if the rail on their handguard didn't line up with the rail on their receiver.

so, on the wk and mcr they got rid of the flange and put a step in the piston to stop the spring. this is where the piston breaks as it creates a weakness in the piston right at the area of maximum deflection.

solutions so far are:

- a larger, monolithic receiver that allows room for the flange like on the crusader (and acr, and sl8/g36 ...).
- no spring like on the siberian; the problem being that without the spring there is nothing to hold a two-piece piston together and as a result they went with a one-piece piston which cannot be removed without removing the gas block.
- mount the piston closer to the barrel to allow room for the flange, which then requires a special barrel nut or other barrel mounting system (rwa and sterling use a mounting plate instead of a nut which requires a larger receiver to accept the fasteners).

so, the take-away?

the wk and mcr are the weakest.
the crusader, rwa, sterling are robust but heavy due to all the extra material.
the piston on the siberian appears to work fine (even without the spring) but it has issues with the gas block coming loose (can't pin it as it is required to be removed for service). but it's light.

Why the klinking/ rattling noise ???
took it appart, and found the noise:
The Gas Tube, YES
the Gas Tube is sliding.

Just take the handguard off and you see. I looked at a few Siberians and the newest one I just got 2 days ago from SFRC does not have that rattle. It still moves though but much less than the first one I had and sold 2 months ago. Also the gas block has a darker look to it, maybe they changed something with the hardening.

Lol tell me you don't understand how the gas system works without telling me.

Definitely don't buy a Versa Max shotgun, you won't like the piston rattle on them either.
