Canadian 'super pigs' set to spread disease and damage the environment in the US.

Well, that didnt take long....
More fear mongering by the masses to generate clicks and views via the cbc.
Pretty soon there will be stories of alligators or crocodiles in Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park, unlike the real one in New York
But, anyways it is a mild 20 F here in Metro Vancouver today and the threat of snow is greater than 50% for Lotus Land.

Shot this feral sow a few years ago. Truck box is 6-1/2 feet long for scale size.

LOL oh my god that was the best video I have seen i a while.

Best part - They only stay close for a little while because of the odour. “It reeks” 15 year old neighbour stomached the stench long enough to take a picture. “It smelled like a girl with hair spray on her. too rough, it would not be something i would want to encounter”

Trapping works, but only under the right circumstances - traps need to be manually triggered by a person only when the entire sounder is in the trap. Otherwise you create trap shy pigs and you'll never get them all. Of course this kind of trapping is costly and manpower heavy, which is why few places actually do it.

I completely get the unintended consequences of allowing "hunting"
I'm looking at if from a "cull" perspective

If they end up on my land I'd be looking to do a mass led poisoning event a few times year
Hopefully it would be over before it drew much attention
 
This is the second wave of the Canadian sneak attack. First were the "Super-Wolves" we sent to Yellowstone. Second waves are the "Super-Pigs". Hopefully they don't figure out that we have "Super-Geese" too!
