.25-06 is the perfect Western plains deer & pronghorn cartridge. Mine's a Sako AV, wearing a 3.5-10x Leupold. I typically shoot 120 grain bullets, but 100's might actually be better for many jobs.

Varmits disappear with an 87 gr. at 3600. Even fairly big ones.

The 25/06 is a classic cartridge that gives you flat trajectory with out the big powder burn and long barrel of most 257 weatherbys. A bit big for varmints and a bit light for elk, but could handle both in a pinch. It’s similar to a 270win with 110’s.

Idk I can't get one over the plain old 270. 130s at 3100 and 110s at 3400+? Thats 257 wby territory with 110s. Brass everywhere. Bullets easier to find.

I’ve read a few articles that all said it’s possibly the most under rated cartridge. I hunted all N American game with one for several years. Except grizzlies but I never had a tag for one so that’s a moot point. Shot it a lot, worked up lots of different loads with it, finally burned out the throat, re barrelled it to 280 Ackley. Want to build one with a long barrel, and a fast twist to accept the long sleek bullets now reported available but can’t find lol. My advice - try and get as long a barrel as you can find, too short of a barrel is the main disadvantage to most factory offerings. There’s a lot of powder in there trying to burn it’s way out of a small hole, needs all the length it can get.

25-06 is awesome but? With all the new advancements in bullets will it be around?
6.5 Grendel, 350 Legend (Awesome deer round - taken 3 big bucks with it), etc.

I have one that I'll be putting up for sale Sako A7 in awhile [new member] I'm going to get myself an upgrade but I don't think there are many new guns chambered in 25-06 anymore so I'll be 243 to 7-08 zone, thinking probably a 308.

I think you will be challenged finding a major manufacturer that doesn’t chamber new rifles in 25-06. Under rated and over looked this caliber definitely is.
