Anybody out there holding some knowledge on the Winchester Model 140 Ranger 12 gauge semi auto? I have a very strong google game and I have the Blue book of gun values; however, finding more info on this one is proving a challenge...

I have come up with it was a cheaper version of the Model 1400, but the build is roughly the same, sans a few parts and birch instead of walnut. They seem reliable. I just can't find info on serialization.

Let's see where this goes!

The 140 Ranger was the bare bones model of the 1400, 1400 mk11, 1500 series of Winchester auto loaders. It's running mate was the 120 Ranger pump gun of the 1200, 1300, 2200 series of pumps. Both models appeared and disappeared from Winchester's offerings during the early 1980's and were gone by the late 1980's. The guns worked well enough but they did not have the Winchester charisma that endears them to collectors.

Great info! Yeah it seems that it was discontinued around the same time as the 1400. Looks to be an obscure gun but no provenance… yet!

They were sold through Canadian tire in the 80ies.a long with the ranger mod 120 pump .my very first auto loader shotgun . Came with win chokes .only had it a few waterfowl seasons as a steady diet of imperial 2 3/4" magnums took a toll on that gun .
