Time for me to take my earth pig shooting rig (and experience) to explore 'yote' hunting.

1) What do I do when I blast the 'yote' ? I just want to shoot 'em, not skin 'em, tan 'em, sell the hides , etc, etc.

2) I've been reading about the calling art/science. Gonna keep reading all your posts so that come spring of 2008, I'll be calling at dusk after shooting earthpigs in the late afternoon. I'll leave the groundhog carcasses there... does that sound workable ? Heeere kitty, kitty, kitty !! :50cal:

Thoughts ?

Peace be to journey

That is a good idea with the cat food! I will have to remember that. I have heard diff people talk about buying cat toys that are fluffy and move around. I guess it is a cheaper alternative to buying the actual predator decoys.

Wow !

I like the cat food idea. Lots cheaper that using a call (can freeze up). Cat food is easy to haul around, especially in a can. Hey, how about a can of sardines ? Smells like crazy, and I can chow down with some crackers at the same time ?

Okay, back to blasting them.... I love shooting groundhogs since you are doing the farmers a favor and then you are feeding the 'yotes' also. Win-win situation. Life is good ;)

So if I get lucky and blast the 'yote', I will just leave it around for the scent trail will I ?

This is starting to sound like fun. I truly have no need for the fur, I just love the hunting. fieldcraft, and shooting end of this activity. And of course, the volunteer community service we provide for the farmers.

Most of you know that I teach high school (along with the NDP votin' , Birkenstock wearin', granola crunchin', Kommunist leanin' teachers) here in Simcoe County. When I yak with students about their required (to graduate) 40 hours of community service, I will remind them of MY Community Service:evil: ha ha ha

Heeeeere kitty, kitty, kitty !!

Does anybody know of a skinner or someone that will take dead coyotes in Southern Ontario???
I also like shooting the things but not really a fan of skinning, fleshing, combing, streching, drying and tumbling the pelts. Got some nice one's that I wouldn't want to waste.

When I yak with students about their required (to graduate) 40 hours of community service,

What? They have to do community service to graduate?! Thats BS.

Hungry here: The Conservatives intro'd that into the legislation back about 10 years ago. In order to graduate from high school in Ontario, you had to have your 30 credits, pass a literacy test (grade 10 level), and complete 40 hours of community service.
