Savage 110 50th Anniversary edition - $1700

dont you guys have a 'Tikka T3 changed my life' thread to be posting in instead?

i find it hilarious to see the proponents of one economy rifle nitpicking another economy rifle line's anniversary offering.

Where are you two ordering two of them? They only made 1000 of them so I figure all of Canada might get 50 of them.

Blargon, your gettin hosed whoever you ordered them from for $1700. My local shop has three of them coming in and I was quoted $1479 if I order it now.

Think of it this way, the 110's are only being made to the amount of 1000 rifles. Look down the road another 5 or 10 years if you keep that gun N.I.B. and figure what it'll be worth then, bet you almost double.

In 1897 a Savage model 1895 Monarch grade cost $130, today you wouldn't find one for under $20,000.

In 1965 the model 110 PE and 99 PE sold for $295 and $310 respectively, today you wouldn't get a 110 Presentation grade for under $1000 or the 99 presentation grade for under $1200.

Your really nice guy and all Bigdog, or whatever, but um, with the exception of the Monarch, that would just be inflation. Hate to break it to ya, an all, but sometimes the truth hurts.
I could've bought a 65' Chrysler for under 5000 then too (if I was born), but they worth 20,000 plus now, used. Now that is an investment.:D

They can stamp whatever they want on that gun, I wouldn't pay more than $599 for it.:p:D

Its just a 114 American with a gold trigger and a floorplate.;)

Oh, and 24-karat gold plated double barrel bands.:jerkit:

Savage Arms told me I could get a pair of 110's in 250 and 300 sav out of the custom shop with consecutive numbers for the same price as one of the anniversary models.

Sure, but will they gold plate everything for you, or would you settle for sterling silver?

If you got time, come on over. Bring your .308 Finnlight and I will let you try my Savage with the actuator. Trust me, you won't be fooled after very little time at the range. I like my savage but for a grand or more??????

You really hate that gold trigger huh?

All the early sixties post-mil 99's models DL's, F's and C's had factory gold triggers. Course they weren't $1700. Savage did that to compete with Winchester or Marlin (can't remember which) who was also putting out guns with gold triggers.
