Which glock mag gen is best for Ruger PCC?

without going to range can i test ? i have pmag mag801 have 2 of them, wanted to get fab defence ultimag now as i like the looks of it :)

you can try putting in an empty glock mag then open the bolt if its not already open

if its a ruger mag it will lock the bolt back and prevent it from closing after its open

The manual operation test is helpful, but it is not conclusive. The magazine spring has to be strong enough to push the bolt stop up and fully into place in the (very) short window of time that bolt is far enough back to allow it.

So, it could pass the manual operation test, but still fail a live fire test.

Last round bolt hold open can also depend on the ammunition, since it is the ammunition that will determine how quickly the bolt is moving. Too slow, and it won't move the bolt far enough backwards before the recoil spring stops it and sends it forward. Too fast, and the bolt can bounce forward after it has hit the end of its travel, again reducing the amount of time that the bolt stop has to work. Straight blowback firearms are particularly sensitive to a balance between the springs, reciprocating mass, and ammunition.

I tested my OEM Glock mag at the range with about 150 rounds using both S&B and PMC Bronze. The bolt held open after the last round every time.

I've had no issues with OEM glock gen5 10 round mags, Pmag 17's, Glock OEM gen5 17 round mags, sgm 17 round mags. All have worked well and last round bolt held open every time. For the price the SGM magazines are nice and the pmag 17's are great too, it took a little bit to find them but managed to grab a bunch at $25/ piece.

Today i fired for the first time with my rifle and with pmag mag801 and it did hold the bolt open

All, Why loading the 10th round is almost impossible in the pmags ? even with uplula loader ?

i was able to do only 9 rounds with uplula and 10th load felt like me breaking the mags

Mine all load 10 pretty easily with just thumbs (both the 10/10 and 10/17 designs). You can probably tinker with them to get them work better, but you'd be in your rights to return the problem mags.
