Ruger PC experience

Well I am glad FOC did the right thing and offered a refund considering the first time they told you to go through warranty.

I would go in sooner rather than later to get that refund and hopefully you got the name of the person with whom you were discussing this.

Gravel sent me a form to fill out to get a reference number to ship.I called FOC explained how gravel will take months and and asked for an exchange. They had no stock left to exchange but will let me refund.

Will probably go this week or next week. Hopefully when I go they got more new stock and I can just exchange.
Good on them for offering refund. Agree I would get in there and get it sooner than later.

I had the tactical version with the pistol grip and adjustable stock

I'll be looking for the same one again. If they happen to get new inventory I'll just do an exchange there. If they make things right I'll definitely be a return customer.

If only Ruger made a tactical version without the mlok barrel then it would be perfect for me. I find the mlok barrel a bit heavy but I can fix that myself by going to the gym. The missing screw I can't fix.

Get your refund from FOC and get your PC Carbine from G4C: https://g4cgunstore.com/product/ruger-pc-carbine-9mm-18-6-brl/

They totally stand behind their products. The manager there, Tank, is a great guy who does business with integrity. It's not a big store but they carry a lot of good stuff, and their prices are always good. Service is consistently excellent.

Sure why not ? i was suggesting in case of no stock at FOC

Also, you can remove the mlok handgurad from the tactical version. i dont see any issues. not sure if bare version forehand will it, if it does then i have one to spare

We'll see if they restock. It's also saves me a trip to another store.

I remember seeing a YouTube video that the barrels are swappable between different models of the Ruger PCC

Al Flaherty's is top notch. I have bought from them before in store and online. For online, the service is lightning quick and they don't delay shipping at all and your firearm shows up very quickly.

I like Flaherty's plenty, but I'd be inclined to give FOC a chance. It's decent of them to offer the refund, since many places would have told you to get lost. I try to encourage good behaviour from retailers when I encounter it.

That's a very fair point, and point taken.

That said I do hope they honour the refund offer. I wonder if it was someone else who told the poster originally to go to Gravel for warranty. Let's say the poster shows up with the firearm and the guy who told him that was working there...and he says "we never told you that - you need to send it in for warranty" - that's why I indicated to get the name of whoever told the poster that they will refund - if it's the same guy as the original guy, great...if not, just want to make sure they are on the same page.

To be fair, most retailers typically have a final sale, no refund policy on firearms and ammo. I don't remember about exchange but definitely I don't remember anyone getting their money back. But it may be a store by store policy. And it is up to the store's management to make exceptions if warranted. I remember one time buying a military surplus rifle...as we know they are typically sold as-is, but in my case there was a problem with it right off the bat. The store said while they typically sell surplus as-is, in my case as I am a regular customer they would take it back and have their gunsmith try to troubleshoot it and if it was really a defect that was not fixable I'd get my money back. That was very decent of them to offer...after I filled out the form, I decided it wouldn't hurt things for me to try to take apart the trigger assembly to see if I can figure out what was wrong. With some youtube videos and such I managed to figure it out and I called the store and said thanks for the offer, but I won't need to send it in. But I never forgot that offer, which dare I say is uncommon. And I would certainly have no hesitation to shop there going forward.

Well plan B would be sending a brand new gun to Gravel to add a screw and I won't get it back for 6-8 months. Since it's my first gun I won't have anything else to play with in the meantime.

I did get the name of the staff and I'll go when he's there. Probably won't be able to leave the office this week to go. Hopefully it's honoured when I show up.

Exactly - It's good business to make an effort to retain good customers.

I've had similar experiences. "Final sale" policies are probably necessary to deal with lowlifes looking to take advantage. With a bit of retail experience, I'm sure these guys are pretty good at telling who's who. I can't say how common it is for stores to decide in your favour despite a stated policy, but I've been pleasantly surprised on several occasions.

It never hurts to ask!

just wanted to update that they honored the full refund. i guess they didnt want to pull a screw off a display model.

they didnt have more stock to exchange, hope they restock again soon

Thats great. Now your options are plenty if you want to get it immediately or wait and get at FOC

Normally i would say shop around but it looks like you are developing a decent relationship with your store and they have treated you well, so if you are willing wait well then that is what you should do.
