.243 Wssm

Finally got around to snapping some pics of my A-bolt Varmint Stalker .243wssm today. So far I really like this rifle and it is one of the most accurate I have owned yet! Thanks Chilly Willy for pointing me in the right direction!

Thanks for all the responses, I did contact Browning and they confirmed that they were discontinuing the .243 WSSM. Now it's decision time

Ryan....you must have got the last one in Canada! They are sweet...you'll have to bring it by some time for a new trigger spring. Thats all mine really needed. May I suggest a shorter swivel harris with a lock lever.....ausome for prone shooting on uneven ground. I'm really reluctant to try the heavier 95's and 100's just based on length and how far they would have to be seated into the cartridge. Beside I've got the 257 Roy comming in sometime in late March.

I had my eyes on a 243 wssm for a while, now that I am ready to buy one, I cant find anyone who has them in stock. Does anyone know where one is kicking around? I am willing to pay a couple extra bucks for anyone selling one.

Thanks for the invite on the spring Chilly...I will deffinatly take you up on it. I think your right about finding the last one in Canada...I have actually looked into it a little more after I bought one and NO ONE had one.About the Bi-pod, it is the swivel unit but...I had picked up the shorter one from Shooters and was just not happy with it, mostly because of my size...Im not huge but am 260lbs/6' tall and with the short one I couldn't shoot level with it because I was up higher. This one works perfectly and it the sivel and it also works great for me in the sitting possition when I am out hunting yotes. With the short one I found that in the snow it was even worse seeing it was sinking and I was floating up top.

What are you shooting for bullets in yours? I am shooting 75gr V-max's and am quite happy for now...thinking of some Varmint Grenades come spring for ground pigs.

I'm trying to find some 6mm gopher grenades to try in my Savage .243.. just the normal .243.

Right now I use the 65 gr V-Max with some very nice results. I'm still trying to find something for deer... thinking the 95gr Hornandy SST.

looks good...I am deffinatly going to have to see that thing in person. I am jelous about the scope!!! Didn't realize they had the red on them either.

I'm tossing Nosler 70g Ballistic Tips over Hodgdon BL-C 2 max load. It does a fine job of making things dead right now. The glass is a Leupold VX-L 6.5-20 X 56 Extreme Varminter with 1/10 target turrets and the varmint hunter reticle....SWEET indeed! I've got the 243 WSSM Redding competition dies now so I'm looking forward to shrinking those sub MOA groups even further to ragged holes. Been looking into the 90g Swift bonded bullets and the 95g Nosler BT's for deer medicine....looks like BL-C 2 or H4350 will be the winner for driving those. The last pic I posted shows the nice chrome linned bore
