I just got my Grizzly today (within eight days and I'm in southern Ontario). I opened the box with excitement to notice that there was not a pistol grip. I was under the assumption that it came with it. Has anyone else come across this? However, I did run and pick up some ammo. The accuracy is good. When I called, they appeared to be on vacation (or closed). I'm going on vacation myself and won't be able to see my pistol grip for awhile:(

Canada Ammo is closed for the SHOT show down South.
The package does come with a pistol grip that is bagged separately within the box, I assume you took a really good look in the folded areas of the box? It should be there, if not then CanAm will fix you up.
Cheers

BTW: Welcome to the club! :)

Dang!!! It is supposed to have a pistol grip in with it... My Grizzly was in a plastic bag and the pistol grip was in it's own seperate plastic bag... CanAm was great to deal with and my guess is he will make it right.

Cheers

I have no doubt that CanAm will fix it for you. That said, mine came with the PG but the stock nut was too tight for me to get off. I guess old noodle arms will have to hit the gym.

22rimfiredude, the "nut" can be removed with a socket wrench and extension... You don't have to use a flat screwdriver... When my Grizzly arrived I tried the screwdriver and could not remove the nut, to be honest, neither could a buddy, so we used a socket...

Cheers

Has anyone shot some 3" slugs with the pistol grip yet? I'm curious to know if the recoil is managable.

Depends what you mean by 'manageable'. I've fired them out of my Dlask 8.5" 870......lots of fun but according to many I am a recoil mutant ;)

In such a short barrel the extra powder isn't going to burn it'll just make a bigger fireball out the end
Cheers

It's not that bad, mind you I've never shot them out of a grizzly, just out of my 8.5" Dlask with pistol grip and hard ass fore end. Your wrist will tell you when it's had enough.

See Ike, you're not the only mutant, apparently Mopar Guy is too. Thanks guys, I'm sure it'll be fine. Thanks for answering a shotgun noobs question. Sorry Minnifer for the hijack.

You're not alone. Mine arrived today without the pistol grip too. Ours must have been a bunch in the pile that got missed when they packed the box. Oh well, I'm not worried about it as I'm sure CanAm will take care of us.

Oh now Jay, it wasn't that bad to remove it.:p :D Okay, it was a bit stiff, but I did manage to get it off with a large screw driver. But it is good to know that I can use a 13mm socket as well.

Even without the pistol grip, I am still going to give it a complete cleaning and get rid of all that horrible smelling oil that they pack it in.

I can't wait to try it out.

I have used tire irons from my Pathfinder and Astorvan to free seized 870s since they had the big flat end, much more torque than a screwdriver. I didn't tighten them that much when puting them back together again though.

That happened to me and about 3 days later I got the pistol grip in the mail. I think they were so busy that they forgot a few.
