RDB Smith?

My experience with Vault is mixed. On one occasion they were very accommodating, selling me main spring I managed to destroy (my fault, I like to dissect my guns), for the used RDB I had. That was couple of years ago. My experience with IRG warranty was smooth, but understandably time consuming with shipping between ON, AB and FL.

@OP, I don't think a smith will help, you need a set of new parts, probably revised versions of them (or combination of them that would be able to fix the issue specifically in your revision of RDB) and this is the info KT doesn't share, prop because of liability they prefer their guns serviced by them or authorized distributors. I think RDB is one of few guns I bought brand new, specifically for the reason of warranty.

So then what are my options?

I asked my LGS and they don't even want to look at it.

So it's down to two:
- parting rifle and selling parts. Considering parts for RDB are not easy to find for used RDBs I think you would do just fine.
- trying to source a number of parts (I checked my records and it's "newer version" of sear trip and bolt head that were installed, well, if we trust KT) and install them and see how it works

actually, you can also sell the whole rifle, it would be nice of you to provide full disclosure, maybe someone will enjoy this kind of fun, mine use to gave up to three rounds burst, all my friends enjoyed it for sure, I kept telling them it's by design, secret third mode.

Do you have the part numbers? I could try and see if Vault would sell me the parts?

I could also talk to Bits of Pieces to see if they would do the repair. I actually have to go through Van in the summer so could drop it off w them.

Another likely faster option is to talk with Irunguns and see if they will send it to Florida for you and get Keltec to fix it.

I'm third owner, at least. Keltec isn't going to fix it for me.

They may or may not do it for free, but I would be surprised if they refused to repair your dangerously malfunctioning weapon with their name on it after you requested their help.

You might be shocked to find out that some people care about others, even when they don't have to.

Contacting Keltec and inquiring would be my next move. Drop it with Barry this summer and you might see it next year.... :)

Before sending it to anyone, you can eliminate one variable yourself. Open up the gas adjustment, and see if that eliminates the problem. Presuming nothing mechanically is out of sorts, it might be under gassed.
I base this on the fact that I had the very problem you describe with an Daewoo kc20 back in the '80'S... going to the next larger gas setting solved the issue. Not guaranteeing it will solve yours, but you'll eliminate a variable at the very least.
