No contradiction. I said a long timre ago that a bear at 100 yards can't bite you
Yes. A bear at 100 yards is no danger to you.
Where was it ever said that it could?
This is what was said: "stopping a charge starts at 100 yards"
And you did exactly did this... by your own account... at 125 yards.
Except in your case, the bear only sauntered up to 25 yards... Not sure if that makes it better, or worse. So, you "stopped your bear saunter starting at 125 yards" because it's at that distance you identified the threat, and began to get ready. Those are your words you used to described your situation. And if you didn't feel you were in danger, then why did you react the way that you did?
But there is no contradiction?
And gotta add... this whole bear at 100 yard is no danger thing. You're right. As long as it stays there, It's always going to stay right there. Right? You saw it as a danger at 125 yards. It's why you reacted the way you did. Chuck as well. Most people would, Is the expectation to stare at it with your hands in your pockets, because it's not a threat? And it can't bite you because it 100 yards away? It's just silly talk. You own story proved different. So did Chucks. Again, obviously, if it's eating dandelions, it's going to get treated that way... these ones obviously weren't.
