VZ-58s and more...FAQs are Post 1

Q: Considering this monster thread, what do you think of the VZ-58 type rifle?

  • It is a beauty as it comes, and a must have, since it drives Libs bonkers.

  • It is best pimped out and dressed up, a far cry from an NDP convention.

    Votes: 407 19.0%
  • It is true it was the first cool gun in the Cdn. market for a long while, but I'll pass.

    Votes: 166 7.7%
  • It makes me think of snide remarks, as I am a gun snob and the 58 is affordable.

I'm about to finish pimpin out my 858...a lot of mixed stuff and sawing off due to lack of funds...
What do you think??
Heres what has been done:
-I cut off the hand grip from the skelaton stock that came with my rifle (hated the look of it, but i can still use the stock)
-I put on the black handguards that also came with the rifle and installed 3 G36 rails to it, and a short front grip so it doesnt interfere with mag removal.

What kind of stock should i get? I'm looking at the folding wire stock which is cheap, or an AR adapter with the cheap AR stock from Marstar, which is a little more expensive...is it worth the extra $$ for the AR stock.

I think im just going to go with the normal vz folding stock, they sell it at crafm which close to my place... I got the rails at opsgears.com , they have a lot of good picatinny accessories and rails for a good price but they charge a sh*t load for shipping. As for the pistol grip, i cut it off of the skelaton stock that came for free with ym rifle.

Marstar has cheap rails.

I've wondered if this could be clamped on the barrel in front of the gas block to provide a combination scout scope point, flashlight and laser mount. You'd have to remove the front sight first.
