Importation of new rifles eg, Cetme L, Hellion, M249S, etc.

I don't see an FRT child entry for the semi M249 made by Ohio Ordnance. Someone would have to submit a sample and waaaaaaiiiit.

NS is the importer for the Astra Arms MG556 semi-auto clone of the M249.

No export restrictions on belt feds out of Switzerland as far as I know.

Maybe I'll start begging over on their subforum....

I'll beg with you!

Astra Arms MG556 semi-auto is classified as “prohibited class” already. But the FN M249S is removed from the list, probably reclassified to NR?? Maybe somebody paid enough money to satisfy the overloads? I’m crossing my fingers for the dream come true…
I’m there with you guys!

All we have to do is tell the americans we need their betfeds to battle the mutant farrell giant killer hogs that came from the US mutated here and are now headed back south

Astra Arms MG556 was submitted and rejected by the RCMP and I saw the submission it was magazine feed only

Folks, why is there such a high demand for a belt fed that is not only semi auto, but with our cucked laws, limited to 5 rounds? Obviously the 5 round limit is a travesty, but at least it's more tolerable in pinned magazine form rather than circumcised belt form. Personally, I think that the CETME L or Type 81 in .308 (NAR-10/ CS/LR-14) would be a much better contender as a new import for the Canadian market. Maybe we could even reach for the stars and see what an importer could do with the possibility of a Japanese Howa Type 89 configured in semi auto.

If the belt is disintegrable then each link is considered a magazine, allowing you to have (in theory) an unlimited size belt, I know someone who has a semi auto M60 and asked him why he has it if it's limited to 5, he called the rcmp and they said if the belt is contained, limited to 5, but disintegrable belts consider 1 link as a "magazine".

News to me, and I had a belt- fed AR awhile back that I was told in no uncertain terms required no more than 5 linked rounds. Only pre-1946(?) belt and links are exempted to my knowledge, hence the longer belts in the semi-auto .30 cal M1919s.

Ask North Sylva about the MG556 Semi-Automatic , Right off armalytics . Looks like was done years ago base off the number that was issued .

the Astra Arms MG556 uses a full automatic machine gun receiver/frame that has been populated with semi-automatic parts.
there are no methods employed by the manufacturer to prevent the installation of full automatic components.
the Astra Arms MG556 was found to be readily and easily converted to discharge shots in rapid succession with a single pressure of the trigger in a relatively short time period with relative ease.

If this is true only the RCMP could come up with such a f**ked up rule.

"Relative ease" = We bought all of the full auto parts from the manufacturer and installed them
or
We spent $2 million building a machine shop to make the parts.

:D

I hope that's one of many issues that get tackled with a potential rewrite. Way too ambiguous whereas converting it at all is the crime itself

Ask for that in writing. Talk is cheap
