Is excessive Logging , hurting the bear pop in your area

You seem to have difficulty grasping facts as presented to you from folks who work/have worked in the industry?

R.

People that work and are hired to do that work are usually the most nieve ! even the high paid pro's . Just don't see and know the big picture ... Just ask Joel

If you believe that enjoy your cut blocks and hunting.. if just a season or two and expensive , why do it in the first place ..

Because licensees are legally obligated to reforest crown land? Thats a pretty big reason.
Because licensees wouldn’t have social license to continue harvesting timber on crown land from the public if they didn’t plant trees? There’s another big one.
Because licensees employee people who like being out in the forest and those people want there to be forests for their children and grandchildren? Thats a VERY big reason among ALL the people I have worked with over the last 30+ years in the industry….

Ohhhh and who checks that . BC is broke and not gonna stop the cutting ... that's a fact

Forestry practices are different across Canada. You can't compare British Columbia to New Bruswick or Ontario, completely different eco-systems. I live in New Brunswick and a few years back the provinces deer biologist came out hard against herbicide use in NB forests. SURPRISE!!! He was fired by the province. He is now a much more vocal opponent. Being a private individual the forestry companies cannot dictate what he says.

You're so far behind... you really believe you're in front. And it's naïve... if the shoe fits...

If a company wasn’t growing trees back on their cutblocks it wouldn’t take very long before Joe Q Public noticed and started looking. There would be complaints to the Forest Minister and licenses to harvest timber would be suspended.
Additional to that, virtually every forest licensee in BC is audited by independent companies so they can maintain their forest certified standards. Those standards are required by virtually ALL lumber sales companies now (Lowes, Rona, Home Depot, etc) for a forest company to be able to sell their products.
Those products are under contract well in advance of a single tree being cut…

You are talking out of your ass about a subject you don’t know anything about, you should be asking questions and taking notes, not giving your opinion because your opinion isn’t worth the bandwidth you wasted by typing it out here.

Always kinda funny when people have no clue of what's involved here. Or how things work at the Provincial level in a department of natural resources...but are so sure they are right.

Can often have really good dialogues with people on these issues but the not some folks? Not so much.

Yup. Not hard to pick out the folks who know what’s actually involved, and the ones who have no clue.

This thread is like "discussing" gun control with some left wing nut job that has never held a firearm in his life but knows everything there is to know about guns. Gets "schooled" by a number of gun enthusiasts, often VERY knowledgeable gun enthusiasts with MANY years experience yet insists that their position is the ONLY tight one and everyone else (that actually KNOW the subject) is wrong. Resorts to name calling and juvenile insults which is a class A sign of not being able to back up ones position. Yup, I used to get into these kinds of "discussions" with self professed "gun experts" that have never held a gun. Unless those in the know are replying for sport, save your sanity and move on. JMHO

Who checks that? Well, for one, the RPFs or Forest Techs that need to sign off on the various silviculture surveys that are completed (regen, stocking survey, and free growing survey). These surveys are regulated on how and when they are completed and aren’t optional. And if someone was caught signing surveys that weren’t completed properly or falsified….let’s just say that I don’t want to be them when the regulating body (FPBC) comes after them. You can lose your designation, be fined hefty amounts, or drug through the courts. The simple fact is that the professionals that oversee forestry activities on the land base aren’t risking their livelihood to mow down your bears you’re so concerned about.
All the provinces operate differently but they all have something similar in place to manage the forests.

And for bear dens being run over….your dreaming. Very few blocks have dens in them to start with and those that do have retention patches placed around the dens or the dens are excluded from the block. Any given block has had people all over it receeing it, laying it out, and timber cruising it. That’s a lot of eyes on the ground. And once again all of this is being overseen by a registered professional forester. It’s not the wild west out there with feller bunchers just cutting wherever they please.

Ok .. I guess I was wrong the whole time .. forgive me and forget what I said .. My mistake

^what about all the crushed dead bears? Or if they magically escape the feller bunchers and skidders/fowarders do they starve in the barren landcape?
