Yes, it seems that Colt is reluctant to give up the bizarre "duck bill" grip safety they've been putting on their guns in recent years. Perhaps they bought those things in bulk and now have a million or two sitting in the warehouse.
 
I think the Delta Elite is cool. I'm not to thrilled about the bull barrel and FLGR but if they are there as an reliability improvement especially to handle the full power 10mm rounds I'll look past that.

Looks like they are using it as a drop in affair rather then properly fitting it.

to add to that they are one of the most prolific pistol suppliers of reasonably priced 45's too!;)
