What are 'gun fighter' grips on a revolver?

They are what one company is calling them in order to make you buy a set.
Usually a slightly slimmer design, with or without checkering, usually have finger grooves. They are the "tactical" nonsense for revolver owners. - dan
Definitely no finger grooves. They're made by Eagle Grips and are either checkered or smooth. They are slimmer at the bottom and fatter at the top to stop the gun from rolling up in your hands, which is what single actions naturally want to do. They're designed to help you stay/get back on target quicker for CAS shooting. If you want to shoot heavy loads in single actions, stay away from them since rolling up is what you want the gun to do.
They have notches indicating the number of kills. In time it looks like checkering.

Check out the RB N frame S&Ws and thier advertising from the 70s and 80s. All with "combat" or " gunfighter" grips. And they all have finger grooves. Now there was a brand of grips called Gunfighter Grips back in the late 60s if memory serves, which looked a lot like Roper grips or the Skeeter grips that Blue Magnum sold. No finger grooves on those. - dan
