Pedersoli or marlin

I know marlins are hard to come by, so I was wondering what you guys think of the pedersoli boarbuster, it looks pretty good. I'm wondering if it's good or comparable to the good ol' Marlin 1895.
 
Marlins are great utility guns, I’ve had a few guide guns. Crazy accurate, compact and handi. The new Miruko guns are excellent, just beautiful guns all around. My latest Pedersoli hunter light is a work of art another level. Just sayin.
 
The Pedersoli Boar Buster rifles are basically clones of the Winchester 1886 rifle. Very good quality build, inside and out. I own a Pedersoli 86/71..in the same family of hunting rifles. This has proven to be an excellent performer. The Marlin 1895 action is far easier to strip for cleaning than the 1886. Other than that, the Pedersoli is a very good choice, in my opinion.
 
I remember reading that the 86 can feed cartridges with a longer overall length that the marlin....I have loaded 500gr cast in my 45-70 rem-marlin and it feeds them fine the way I load them ....perhaps others can shed some light on the issue?
 
I believe the early Pedersoli 86 copies were based on the Winchester 71 and had the 71 style bolt which caused feeding issues with the 45/70 cartridge as the 71 s were 348s.I think they eventually changed the bolt back to the 86 style to correct this problem

Yes the 86' actions are long enough to feed 45-90 with "express weight" slugs so are a bit longer.
RE; Marin 1895-- You must be seating those 500 grn'rs mighty deep or they are dropped from a custom 500 gr mold that has a purposed short meplat / nose. I have to even seat 450 gr BB slugs deep to get them to clear the mag tube and lift.
 
If you’re asking about strength, quality of build, fit/finish etc the Marlin isn’t even in the same league as a Pedersoli, Winchester or similar ‘86. On the other hand the Marlin has a huge following and can be easily customized / accessorized etc. and without a follower change it will cycle that silly lever revolution ammo without issue. (The older Marlins do need a follower change sometimes -simple mod).

I have a JM Marlin 95 and a Miroku 86. Except the stupid tang safety, the Winnie is in every way a better rifle.

The Marlin is okay.

Oh, and yes, you can feed longer cartridges in the 86, such as 45-90.
