The stock hand guard works excellent for what it's intended, but if you want to go full mall ninja then have to go aftermarket.

Stock handguard is light, on an already heavy weapon, and easy to take down for cleaning. The Benelli M4 ergonomics of the OEM polymer handguard are superior to any offering out there.

My 1301T hand guard was plain jane until I modified it w a couple of Pic rails. I bet you could do something similar with the M4 hand guard.

The stock on that is the same as the SuperNova and it is not great. If you have an M4 and want a very nice M-Lok handguard, check out the Briley. They are not cheap but they make great products. I have their charging handle on my 1301 Tac and it's machined beautifully.
