No, they did nothing of the sort. By welcoming hunters onto your land you’re implying permission has been granted. They simply brought private land access on par with all other facets of property ownership.
I can’t use your truck without permission.
I can’t access your house without permission.
I can’t use your phone without permission.
I can’t access your bank account without permission.
I can’t borrow your firearms without permission.
Why should land be any different?
Why should Saskatchewan be the only jurisdiction in North America to grant assumed access to private property?
Property is property, regardless of its physical attributes.
Permission can no longer be implied. All land is deemed no access without permission even though I welcome all hunters whether they ask or not.
The govt should no longer pay for any wildlife damage, that would bring it on par with other property ownership.
We have too register vehicles so we should have to register firearms. Right?
