I wanna make my 10/22 a little CQB wannabe and I need a short barrel but I'm having trouble finding anyone in the states who will ship to me.

I'd prefer a 10.5" barrel but anything between that and 16.5" would be better than the 22" GM target barrel I have on it now.

Anyone know where I can get what I'm looking for? Anyone have what I'm looking for and wanna trade me?

Thanks!

For rimfire there is no minimum barrel length, only overall length and it can't be less than 26" overall or it goes to restricted class.

Send it to a gunsmith to have it cut and recrowned to whatever length you want as long as overall it is not less than 26".

I would check the Firearms Act just to be 100% sure.

10/22 pistol barrel in future

Wait a few monthes before importing so that the US companies can start making 10/22 pistol barrels otherwise you are stuck with the 16 inch carbine barrel. You will need a lot of luck to find an original 12 inch barrel in the US right now.

Ah, thanks ar-15... I'm new to the 10/22, that makes sense. Almost all u.s. manufacturer's will not ship barrels to canada.... they have all let their export permits lapse. the gunsmith route seems like the best option. I'm having er shaw build me a custom barrel for my 10/22, with the helical fluting.... hope it's a shooter!!

...just kidding - Don't try this at home....appropriate name for saw don't you think?

16" carbine is the best you'll to in Canada. Go with a MkII if you want shorter...

cut barrels are a no go unless it's a gunsmith cutting you one from a blank.

I know there are 10.5" barrels out there. Scarecrow has one on his 10/22 as well as another member who's name I can't remember.

Contrary to some of the above advice, sawn-off is not a legal option.

Advertise for what you want on the EE. Someone, sooner or later, will fix you up.

Custom Made E.R. Shaw Barrel- You'll wait a long time for permits though...

You can cut it down to 18".....but no shorter as it goes from non-res to prohib.
Check with someone like Dlask. As they have a firearms manufacturing license, they might be able to legally cut your GM barrel down to whatever length you like.
