Doesn't get anymore exotic than this. I'd never heard of such a thing.

Personally I think he is flat out NUTS shooting a round like that so close to the target. The impact is gonna spray radioactive particles and dust all over the shooter. All it takes is to breathe in a small amount of that and yer life gonna change irrevocably and possibly be measurably shorter.

Depleted uranium is basically non radioactive.

In the nuclear industry it’s used as shielding from radiation over lead due to its density.

All the bull you hear in the news about defects from DU ammo is fake.

I wouldn't eat it.. but lead is more harmful than one DU shell due to the mass quantities most shooters are exposed to.

You're right it's basically not radioactive. However it is still very toxic. That's where all the problems come from.

if some people knew what they were breathing on the firing line they might quit shooting all together LOL
Ya that sweet smell of gunpowder in the morning!!!
Nasty stuff but we do it anyways

Lead and copper are benign compared to this stuff. Think more along the lines of a chemical disposal site.
Also, contrary to what a lot of articles say, this stuff is primarily used for anti tank rounds not small arms rounds.

You mean like all heavy metals used in bullets?

It’s like a normal heavy metal in your body.

It's more toxic than lead. I knew an IPSC shooter lost his arm and leg from handling of DU in the military in the 80/90s. He was pretty messed up. I had lead levels 7x the normal rate, I never had serious issues.
