They haven't even contacted my references.
They're not answering my emails and the RCMP hotline is useless. At what point do I give up and just ask for a refund?
9 MONTHS!!

I received my approval 3 months to the day! It was my first hand gun (Government prompt me) and references were not involved other than providing them to my PAL application. Not sure why yours would be taking so long? I bought mine Oct 11 and the ban started Oct 21/22. Received it in Feb! Something not right about a 9 math wait. I thought my wait was long enough! Would second calling your local CFO

Do you have your restricted licence in hand? If so , go on line and you should be able to see the status
Too bad about the Que. part
Ask the seller to check.
Reference number from the seller? you need that.

lots of the government simply stopped working since covid and FA transfers is about the last thing on the agenda.

Another possibility is that in Quebec the Sûreté du Quebec Firearms Office must have a current copy of your Shooting Club membership card before they process your pistol transfer.

9 months - there is something wrong. You can call the SQ - CFO direct - bureau du contrôleur.
If something is missing - you end up on the sidewalk.

If there is a gun show close by - the CFO has probably a booth there to answer questions and help with situation like yours.
I know they are at the St-Hyacinthe gun show tomorrow May 7th.

So do you need to provide references to buy a restricted firearm in Quebec? That's crazy. The fact that you have a restricted license should be enough.

The last transfer I had go through took almost a year. It was Ontario to Quebec so that could have been a factor. I was the seller.
