Challenger 12Ga target load changed?

Hi all,

Just bought a new case of Challenger 7.5 today, noticed the base of the hull has got higher and it's in silver color, they used to be a brass-washed low base if I remember correctly? (P.S. I kinda like the way it looks now)

Are those 3” shells (I see the 3 after 1-1/8)? I had some of the 2-3/4” and they were the low brass as you mentioned, but have no experience with the 3” versions

I believe the 3 is for 3 drams. They are a heavier target load.

I see… I looked thru the bag full of hulls I shot and found one of the challenger, I don’t have the box anymore but have held onto the hulls as I’m not really sure what to do with them (don’t want to litter crown lands or throw out). The ones I had say:
CHALLENGER
FIRST CLASS
HIGH VELOCITY
1oz - 28gr

They are 3dram equivalent loads, the shell is still 2 3/4” in length.

I noticed the same thing in my latest Challenger purchase. No difference in the performance.

They use Cheddite hulls. At various times, the hull specs seem to change...
