Walking the property. Peaceful. Beautiful... Bears.

Went for a walk today on my hunting property, forgot to bring my SD card checker, but enjoyed the walk none the less.

Bears (I think) maybe a really big raccoon got Into me sealed feed left over from last year, but that's OK... fellas gotta eat.

Lots of fresh green, a few trees down from our ice storm, and trilliums flowering in a near perfect natural paradise.

It's not all bad ladies and gents.

Update: checked my cameras, and indeed I have a friend... spring season opens soon.. and I have a tag

Seems to be soaking up now though.

Ticks were out 3 weeks ago, early this year ..... black flies 2 weeks ago .... and mosquitos this week end ....

But I love every second out there in the spring .... as magical as fall .... I love spring season !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ticks were out a month and a half ago around here (SW Ontario). Still, I won't let those little buggers or any of the others keep me out of the woods. Well, except for the squadrons of dear flies that thrive in July when it's 36 degrees C. At that point the dogs get the a/c cooled couch (after their swim in Lake Erie) and I get a Sleeman's.

Fall and spring, best seasons ever. Winter a close second.

Speaking of deer flies ...... it seems they are attracted to blue moving objects .... (confirmed by actual scientific research) ...

I put up a blue bucket on my truck ... prepped with some sticky glue ..... and I am catching thousands driving through my property .....

And I bet there are a hundred thousand more. My blond GSD (dog) is untouched by dear flies. My black GSD is dear fly food. I am too, just in case you ask. We now have a white and black burmese/blue healer cross puppy and we'll see what we get.

Cleaned up my trail, and cut another hundred meters or so.

Another beautiful day.

Found what I can only assume is a lightning strike burn, as the branch had no other burn around it, and nobody had been back there in years...
