New laser-Max in a Glock 23

I have a Glock 23. This is the short version of the Glock, in 40 cal. I like this gun.

I saw a laser-max on sale for $100, so said "Why not?"

This is the laser that replaces the stock rod guide and peeks out the front of the pistol. The regular holster still fits and the regular sights are untouched.

The take down tab piece is replaced by a slightly longer one, and the laser is turned on by pushing the tab sideways, on either side. Easy to activate.

The only misgiving I had about this laser is that it is not adjustable for zeroing the pistol. Their advertising says that for anti-social purposes, it will be "close-enough".

Today I shot the pistol at 8, 15 and 20 yards, using both the iron sights and the new laser. The groups with the laser were better than with irons, and hit just slightly lower than POA. Certainly "close enough".

Pretty cool. I have always wanted to try a lasermax guide rod.

Sweet 23.2 BTW, the Gen 2's were always my favorite.

Edit, looks like you also have a clip-draw installed?
 
Today I tried the laser max with more powerful ammo. The initial test was done with some unusually mild ammo set up for max accuracy in a S&W pistol. This ammo shot a couple inches low at 8 yard, but was 'close enough" for the purpose.

Today I tried a 180 gr bullet and a 200gr over 3.5 gr of 231. Both of these shot to POA.

Good thing, because there is no adjustment available for this laser in the guide rod.
 
Because I have hundreds of hands guns, many of which look the same. And some have had barrel swaps. Some of my Glock s have been changed to 9mm. This one is still a 40.

I have instances where I went to the range with 9mm ammo and mags, only to find the gun is a 40,or 357Sig, etc. I am 80. Labels help.

Its because the G19, G17, G22 etc etc Glock model numbers are in order of that pistol design being patented by Glock and has nothing to do with their caliber

Once I knew that it was pretty easy to understand that my G21 is a .45 ACP not a Glock 45 and was the 21st patented pistol. And my Glock 45 slide is a 9mm not a .45 ACP
