Anyone else ever have problems adjusting the indexing on this press? I've have it for a few years and once in a while the indexing goes out of wack just enough to make everything miserable ruining cases. It seems simple enough to hold the indexing rod while adjusting the die holder left or right but for the life of me I tried for 2 hours last night and just gave up! I even replaced the little plastic square bushing on the bottom end of the rod. I'm wondering if it's the permanently attached piece of plastic on the top of the rod that is causing the issue. Either way it's driving me crazy. I couldn't find any Video with the same issue.

Try contacting Lee. I've had pretty good luck when I sent inquiries to them about any issues I was having.

I had the same thing a few years ago. I contacted Higginson and they sent me a couple sets of the parts. They weren't much $

I may have to do the same even though it defeats the purpose. In the past once I've had everything lined up it worked great every now and again it goes astray. I even replaced the little square plastic piece at the bottom of the indexing road and it still won't line up!! No matter which way I adjust it the damn thing won't line up.

I emailed Andrew at Higginsons powders and he sent me this:

Works great after. I got 3 more sets for just in case. Should last me years.

You turret parts are worn out

I spoke with him today and he suggested that I send him a video of what was happening. Not sure if a video of me trying to adjust it will really help.

I can just about guarantee that this is the problem. The system is actually quite simple. The shaft rotates the toolhead until the ball detent captures it when it is lined up with the shellholder. If the plastic parts are worn the the shaft doesn't rotate the toolhead enough to engage the ball detent so the dies are not lined up with the shellholder.

i think I may order those few parts tomorrow to see if it helps.

FWIW I have owned a Lee Turret Press for over 35 years and it still works just fine. The only time I had problems w the indexing was when the plastic insert at the bottom wore out. Replace that and the thing works just fine again.

IIRC the indexing ball detent has to be adjusted so that it seats quite firmly. Otherwise the turret can over rotate.

My press has made hundreds of thousands of rounds and I still use it to this day. Its a good system but like any mechanical system it needs to be tweaked and understood and sometimes have worn parts replaced.

Thanks so much.... I as well, usually don't have any big issues with this press. I'll order a couple parts and see if it helps.
