This is my new, unfired, deep blue 6" Colt PYTHON .357
It was made in 1989 or 1990 - I traded my last MAK-90 for it.

Nice, very nice!! One of my two favorite handguns. My first Python had the Colt Royal Blue finish, or so I was told it was. The one I presently have is older than the first, apparently made in the first year of production. There are a couple of suttle differences and I was going to post a picture but with my computer skills, or lack thereof, I haven't figured out how, yet. Unless I can e-mail it to a volunteer???

Nice Python Johnn,

If you PM me the serial # - the last 2 digits, I will tell you the DOB.

Are those medaillions on the stocks silver or gold?
Thanks!

A Python is on my list of "dream" guns. I have always thought they are awesome revolvers. If I ever come across an mint unfired one it would be hard for me to pass up.

Johnn,

Your Python was made in 1957 (they started in 55) and unfortunately your stocks are not original! All pythons from that generation came with the Gold medaillions....I will let you know form which Colt they are from!
Here is my 1960 Python...

They've been classified as "The Cadillac of Handguns" and I agree. For a match I picked up its little brother, a 4" Diamondback, .22LR. One day, hopefully the big boy, an Anaconda.:)
